Balloon games can be used as party games for children...and adults! Great for time fillers,
energisers, icebreakers, or for longer trust-building, team building, and
therapeutic sessions!
WATER BALLOON VOLLEYBALL (For 4 or more players - outdoors!)
Divide everyone into two teams and issue a large beach towel or blanket to each team and get everyone to hold onto the edge. Next construct a 'net' using garden chairs, rope or cones or if playing on the beach, draw a line in the sand! Begin the game by placing a water balloon in the centre of the towel or blanket and then toss the balloon back and forth over the 'net'. Continue with the volley until one team misses and/or the balloon breaks. First team to 10 wins! It may help to prepare several water balloons ahead of time which can be kept in a bucket. Please remember to pick-up any broken bits of balloon as they are a choke hazard for small children.
Divide everyone into teams and appoint one person as 'bag holder' (this can change with each game) and assign a balloon colour to each team. Place lots of coloured balloons (in each of the team's colours) in the centre of the room and ask each team to take up a corner of the room. Next make up a funny action that all team members must perform on the way back from picking up a balloon of their colour, for example, hopping with the balloon held between their knees. Then turn on some party music and let the fun begin! If any balloons are dropped, they have to be put back into the centre of the room. After a couple of songs, stop the music and ask the appointed 'bag holder' to count how many balloons have been collected. The team with the most balloons wins!
